CLIMBING FOR HOSPICE

GUESTS:   Andy Land, Director, Hospice and Palliative Care Services at Agnesian Health Care, Fond du Lac and Melanie Ramey, CEO, The Hospice Organization and Palliative Experts (HOPE) of Wisconsin

Andy Land is on a mission to raise awareness and money for hospice education in Wisconsin.  He will climb Mt. Everest next March through May! To climb the world’s tallest mountain represents the courage, dignity and determination of hospice patients said Land, and he is inviting people who understand the benefits of hospice to support his cause.

On this program, Land and Melanie Ramey describe the critical need to educate the general public about hospice. “It is considered the gold standard of healthcare; it saves the government money; it is a paid benefit under Medicare and Medicaid and many insurance providers,” states Ramey, “and yet in Wisconsin, we are serving about 44% of eligible people.”

For more information on Land’s climb and how to support Team Andy, go to www.climbingforhospice.org or call Hope of Wisconsin, (800) 210-0220.
