KEEPING YOUR EYE ON EYE HEALTH - so you can see the beauty of Orchids (for example)!

Guest:  Dr. John Bonsett-Veal, Optometrist

Guests: Judy Stevenson and Lorraine Snyder, Orchid Growers' Guild of Madison and Fred Clarke, Keynote Speaker, Orchid Quest 2014

January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month. On this program, optometrist Dr. John Bonsett-Veal discusses glaucoma, often referred to as the "sneak thief of sight," and how early detection is critical to help preserve vision. He also describes other common and potentially debilitating eye conditions including macular degeneration, cataracts, and dry eyes that can compromise our ability to see the beauty of the world around us.

For more information on preventing disease and maximizing your eye health, go to the Wisconsin Optometric Association website, www.woa-eyes.org.

Also on this program, hear highlights of Orchid Quest 2014 held at the Alliant Center, Saturday, February 1st from 10 to 5 and Sunday, February 2nd from 10 to 4. Presented by the Madison orchid Growers' Guild, this is the 27th annual event. For more information, go to orchidguild.org.
